Connecting a Custom Domain

Applies to:Owner, Admin

Every site gets a free address automatically: {your-subdomain}.hoahub.site. It always matches the subdomain your community already uses to log into HOA Hub, and it can’t be changed independently.

Already own a domain like mycommunity.com? Go to Communications → Website → Settings and add it under Custom Domain:

  1. Choose whether you want visitors to reach you at www.mycommunity.com or mycommunity.com (without www) — this is your preferred address.
  2. HOA Hub gives you one DNS record to add at your domain registrar:
    • Type: CNAME
    • Name: www (or @ if you chose the no-www option)
    • Value: the address HOA Hub gives you on this page
  3. Add that record with your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and save.

Once you’ve added the DNS record, your domain shows as Pending while HOA Hub checks it in the background. This page checks automatically every few seconds, so it’ll flip to Verified on its own once your DNS change has propagated — no need to refresh.

DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to take effect worldwide. If your domain is still pending after a full day, double-check the record you added, then try removing and re-adding the domain to restart verification.

Once verified, your site is live at your custom domain, and your free hoahub.site address automatically redirects to it.
