Targeting Your Audience
Every broadcast (and Emergency SMS) needs a recipient list, called an Audience. Click the recipient bar in the broadcast composer to build one.
Ways to target
Section titled “Ways to target”- All Contacts — everyone with a current property relationship. This doesn’t include former or future owners/renters, or contacts who aren’t tied to a property (like vendors).
- Custom Filter — build a list from:
- Tags — any contact groups you’ve set up (matches if a contact has any of the selected tags)
- Relationship — Owner, Renter, or both
- Status — Current, Future, or Former, or any combination
- Individual — hand-pick specific contacts by searching name or email
- Saved Audience — reuse a list you’ve saved before
Filters combine with each other using “any of these match” logic, and any individually-picked contacts are always included on top of whatever filter you’ve set.
As you build your filters, a live Recipients count updates automatically so you always know how many people will receive the broadcast before you send it.
Saving an audience for reuse
Section titled “Saving an audience for reuse”While building your recipient list, toggle Save this audience for reuse and give it a name. It’ll show up in your Audiences list going forward.
Managing saved audiences
Section titled “Managing saved audiences”Go to Communications → Audiences to see every saved audience, including:
- How many contacts currently match it
- How many broadcasts have used it
- A preview of the exact contact list it resolves to
Click Delete to remove an audience you no longer need. Broadcasts that already used it keep their delivery history — deleting the audience doesn’t affect anything you’ve already sent.
Where to go next
Section titled “Where to go next”- Ready to send? See Sending Broadcasts.
- Need this for an urgent alert instead? See Sending Emergency SMS.
